VMAs 2022: Jack Harlow, Kendrick Lamar, Lil Nas X, Doja Cat y Harry Styles lideran las nominaciones

A falta de un mes para la celebración de los Video Music Awards 2022, que tendrá lugar en el Prudential Center de Nueva Jersey el domingo 28 de agosto, MTV ha dado a conocer las nominaciones. Jack Harlow, Kendrick Lamar y Lil Nas X lideran la lista con siete nominaciones cada uno, seguidos de Doja Cat y Harry Styles con seis y de Billie Eilish, Drake, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift y The Weeknd con cinco.

El evento, que la cadena de televisión estadounidense retransmitirá para más de 170 países, se podrá ver en directo en MTV España en la madrugada del domingo 28 al lunes 29 de agosto a las 02:00h. Los fans pueden votar en las distintas categorías, como Vídeo del Año, Artista del Año o Mejor Colaboración, hasta el 19 de agosto a través de vote.mtv.com.

Además, esta edición cuenta con dos nuevas categorías, Mejor Vídeo de Larga Duración y Mejor Actuación en el Metaverso, y la nominación a Mejor Artista Revelación permanecerá abierta hasta el mismo día del evento. Las nominaciones para las categorías sociales, incluyendo Grupo del Año y Canción del Verano, se anunciarán próximamente.

Kendrick Lamar, quien regresa tras cuatro años ausente, Jack Harlow y Lil Nas X encabezan la lista de esta edición con siete nominaciones cada uno. Estos dos últimos han obtenido múltiples nominaciones por su exitosa colaboración INDUSTRY BABY, la cual estrenaron en directo sobre el escenario de los VMAs 2021.

Madonna, la artista más premiada de la historia de MTV con veinte galardones, se corona como la única persona que ha sido nominada en cada una de las cinco décadas de los VMAs (1980-2020) al conseguir su 69ª nominación a Mejor Vídeo de Larga Duración por Madame X.

A los anteriormente citados también se unen otros 26 artistas que han sido nominados por primera vez en diversas categorías. Entre ellos se encuentran Baby Keem (4), GAYLE (2), Kacey Musgraves (2), M*neskin (2), Anitta, Becky G, Dove Cameron, Karol G, ITZY, JID, Muni Long, Tems o Wet Leg.
